Making a legacy donation
By making Second Harvest your charity of choice in your will or estate plan, you’re helping reduce the avoidable impact of food waste, relieving hunger today and preventing it tomorrow. Your gift will make a significant impact on the millions of Canadians who struggle with food insecurity while protecting the environment that sustains us for generations to come.
Our promise to you
Whether you choose to leave a percentage of your estate or a specific bequest amount in your will, Second Harvest promises to be accountable, respect your privacy and honour any decision pertaining to your gift.
Beneficiary designation
Simply contact your financial advisor or the institution that holds your assets and ask them for a beneficiary form. Beneficiary designations can be applied to the following type of accounts:
- Life Insurance
- Retirement Funds
- Tax-Free Savings Accounts
- Donor Advised Funds
Informing Second Harvest of your intentions helps ensure that we’ll be able to accept and use your gift according to your wishes.
Your generosity will change the lives of Canadians facing hunger and reduce the environmental impact of avoidable food waste.
