There’s lots you can do to prevent household food waste and improve your environmental impact. We'd love your support! Be an oddball 

Don't shy away from weirdly shaped produce. It all tastes great, especially when you're choppin', slicin', and dicin'!  And when you've got extra, give leftovers a second chance.

Plan ahead

Look at your schedule for the week.  When will you be home and what do you feel like eating?  Some simple planning will help you purchase less and maximize what you buy. Download a meal-planning app or try this HealthLink BC meal planner.

Be creative

A quick peek inside your fridge will probably reveal food that could still be eaten... so get creative!  Look up these ingredients online and try something new. Love Food Hate Waste has great ideas - including ways to revive food.

Double up 

Take that recipe and double it!  Make enough so that you can freeze portions to eat later. It makes for quick meals on those nights when you just don't feel the culinary vibe. Try out some new ideas.
